Summary: Years Are Short stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal information.

Data Storage

All data you enter in Years Are Short is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. This includes:

Your birth date and life expectancy settings
Daily highlights and completion status
Non-negotiable tasks and their status
Theme preferences

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal information. We do not have servers that receive or store your data. We do not track your usage or behavior within the extension.

Third-Party Services

The extension uses the following third-party services:

Google Fonts: We load fonts (Cormorant Garamond and Inter) from Google's servers. Google may collect anonymous usage data according to their privacy policy.
Feedback Form: If you choose to send feedback, you will be directed to an external form service. Any information you voluntarily submit there is subject to that service's privacy policy.

Data Export

You can export all your data at any time using the Export feature in Settings. This creates a local file on your device that you fully control.

Permissions

Years Are Short only requests the storage permission, which allows the extension to save your data locally. We do not request access to your browsing history, tabs, or any other sensitive information.
